Microbiology laboratory

The microbiology laboratory is a highly sensitive laboratory of biotechnology department. It deals with the microbial culture that have several utilities in different fields of biotechnology like bioprocess engineering, quality control in food technology and drug discovery. This facility has well equipped microbial culture room with LAFs and incubators which are required to provide hands on practice to the students.

Genetics and molecular biology

Genetics and molecular biology is a centre of all fields of researches in biotechnology as it facilitates the study of causes of any change, disorder or origin of any phenotypic observation in any living organism. This is the most important facility of biotechnology department with facility for experiments related to this subject like extraction of DNA and its observation.

Biochemistry laboratory

The biochemistry laboratory is basic to any field of life science. The facility of biochemistry includes all devices and equipment for analysis of any biomolecule, which helps to determine its function and its regulation in the different systems of living organisms. These techniques include the immunological experiments and protein analysis of a given sample using several analytical and assay techniques.


Bioinformatics is a branch of biotechnology with wider aspects of researches, as it serves to provide databases, better access to huge number of biological data and better softwares to find out the possibilities of researches through computerization and internet facilities, such that any desired gene sequence or protein structure is just a click away. So the aim of this laboratory is to provide the students the access of important softwares and knowledge to extract the best data present on common databases like NCBI and PDB.

Computer Programming Lab(C, OOP's & JAVA etc)

Computer programming lab is used to gain experience of Operating System (Windows, UNIX, Linux, Dos etc.) and the principles of good program design and programtesting of C,C++,JAVA etc languages, which further goes for development of softwares and later on being expert we can develop operating systems & future projects.

Compiler Design Lab

The lab consists of designing of module which was used by the compiler while compiling the program. These modules are designed in ‘C’ language & consist of different phases of compiler. Student will also work on automated parsing tool like LEX & YACC. After the lab completion the student will know how actually the compiler works & produce the output in different form.

Multimedia & Graphics Lab

This lab is used to provide a general introduction about methods used in display devices to draw graphics element (such as points, lines, circles etc) and also aboutvarious functions (like Rotation , Scaling , Translation etc). Computer Graphics Lab is a study of Practical methods to implement various algorithms used to draw graphics elements . It is a basic step in the direction of Game designing and Animation.

Web - technology Lab

The objective of this lab is to introduce the student to technical aspects of developing web sites. In this lab we cover basic web technologies such as Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML), XML, Cascading Style Sheet (CSS), beginning server programming using servlet and JSP. In addition the course addresses design principles to assist student in designing their own website.

Computer Network Lab

Computer Networking Lab is a practical approach to implementation of all the algorithms which provide communication between two or more computers. In this lab students perform all the applications which are related to networking. In this lab the networking programs are performed in C language, it contains data link layer framing, CRC algorithm, Hamming Code, LZW compression, Socket program for Listener and Talker, DES algorithm. All the students can perform and apply their knowledge on these programs which are beneficial for them in future projects which are related to Networking.

Database Management System Lab

Database Management system is a collection of interrelated data & set of program to access those data. The primary purpose of the database lab is to conduct research on all aspects of database management. In database lab student learn how to design projects ranging from design of new user interfaces & query languages to low level query execution issues.

Distributed System Lab

A distributed system is an application that executes a collection of protocols to coordinate the actions of multiple processes on a network, such that all components cooperate together to perform a single or small set of related tasks. Distributed System Lab is a study of Practical approaches used to Establish Client Server Architecture. In this lab student learns the implementation of various algorithms used in Client Server Architecture. Internet Lab Department has internet services to their students.Each lab comprises 60 PC with Pentium IV latest configuration. These computers are connected to each other through LAN and these are supported by a strong Windows server with extended Memory 64 bit Technology Intel Xeon processor with 800 or higher MHz front side bus and hyper threading support.

Communication Skills Lab

Communication is the epitome of human civilization. An individual's ability to communicate effectively determines his success. Effective communication is given special importance here. Communication Skill is equipped with latest language software, audio-visual aids procured to enable the students to enhance their communication skills. In these lab activities like group discussions, seminars, role-playing, mock interviews, public speaking, presentations & project making are organized to enhance effectiveness of communication skills of our students

Engineering physics Lab

Physics is a science concerning matter and forces. At the fundamental level Physics is an observational science. The laboratory is equipped with latest instruments and peripherals are made freely available to the students. Apart from the basic experiments, Engineering Physics Lab has separate Dark room for performing Holography and other laser optics related experiments. Sophisticated equipments like Optical Bench, Newton’s Rings, Quadrant Electrometer, P.O. Box, Fresnel’s Biprism, Sodium Lamp, are also available. The basic focus in the Engineering Physics Laboratory is to develop scientific temper and encourage students to innovate in diverse technical areas for better understanding of technical and engineering problems.

Engineering Chemistry Lab

The aim of the department is to provide quality education to the youngsters so that they can contribute in the development of the nation. We not only aim on theoretical knowledge but also provide the students, so that they can build their future in a better way.The syllabus is a mixture between traditional analysis as well as specified practical devices to demonstrate theory principles.The laboratory is equipped with sophisticated analytical instruments. We also provide different experiments to support the theory with practicals so that the students can have a better insight of the laws and principles.

Engineering Mechanics lab

The Engineering Mechanics Laboratory is a subject which will help technician to understand the application of theory that he has studied in practice by performing experiments and verifying results. Besides, the objective of the curriculum with effective skill will be developed in them to observe experimental data and to analyse the results. In this lab we provide knowledge to 1st Year students about the UTM Machine, Impact Testing Machine, Hardness Testing Machine, truss structure, flywheel for measuring moment of inertia & dealing with Torsion Testing machine.

Workshop Practice

Our Mechanical engineers can create a new kind of civilization, based on technology, where art, beauty and finer things of life are accepted as everyone’s due. Engineers, whatever be their line of activity, must be proficient with all aspects of manufacturing. However, it should not be forgotten that practice without theory is blind and the theory without practice is lame. A person involved in acquiring manufacturing skills must have balanced knowledge of theory as well as practice. In our workshop we carry all the shops namely carpentry shop, smithy shop, machine shop, sheet metal shop, fitting shop, welding shop.

Fluid Mechanics and Machinery Lab

Fluids are key element of study for many engineering disciplines. Our fluids equipment supports different disciplines . Visual appreciation of the principles of fluid mechanics is the objective of our designs combined with instrumentation which allows a full range of experimental work to be completed. Our laboratory includes a number of workstations for teaching different principles like surface tension, reynold’s number, orifices, notches, metacentric height, electrical analogy. In the Machinery section we have big Pelton Turbine, Reciprocating & Centrifugal Pump apparatus.

Thermodynamics and Air Conditioning Lab

The Thermodynamics Laboratory houses several equipments for educational applications. There are Air- Conditioning units, a desktop Power Plant, which consists of various boilers like Locomotive, Babcock& Wilcox, Lancashire Boiler, a steam engine, a generator, and a cooling tower is used for undergraduate classes. The students gain valuable insight into the thermodynamics of steam power cycles by experimenting with such systems. In Air Conditioning section, we have separate working test Rigs of Air-conditioning & Refrigeration on which student can verify the actual COP of system with experimental COP. We also have big cut section of air conditioning unit, Expansion Devices, Big Air washer units which helps the students .

Dynamics of Machine Lab

Dynamics of machine is dedicated to correcting vibration problems on machines and structures and it also involves learning of Governor, Gyroscope, Cams, and this is being learnt through various experiments which our students learn through working models of Watt Governor, Porter Governor, Hartnell Governor, Cam, Gyroscope, Static & Dynamic Balancing Apparatus installed in our Dom Lab.

Automobile Lab

This lab has wide range of automobile models and demo parts and it helps in study and testing of various engines, carburetors, fuel injection system, brakes, clutches and outer and inner designing of an automobiles.

Digital Lab

The lab is used for practical works related to Digital Circuits & Systems, Computer Systems and architecture and Microprocessor applications. Students learn about various integrated circuits families (TTL, CMOS) as well as ROM, EROMS and RAM. A number of 8085/8086 Trainer kits are available for teaching Microprocessors.

Microprocessor Lab

The Microprocessor lab is for undergraduate students of the institute to perform experiments based on 8085 microprocessor kits and peripheral boards. The lab is equipped with 8085 kits, 8051 kits, AVR RISC microcontroller kits and TI DSP kits. The laboratory also offers the use of a few P-IV computers for 8085 assembler, AVR assembler and debugger and C X compiler.

Microwave Lab

Experiments setup in the microwave lab strengthen the concept of generation, transmission and reception of microwave signals as well as functions of various components used in microwave systems. An Integrated test systems based on network analyzers is available for precision measurement, consultancy and R&D activities.

Digital Signal Processing Lab

This lab is equipped with excellent facilities for DSP. These include :TMS 320 C6713 Digital Signal Processors Digital oscilloscope upto 1 GHz In Circuit Emulators (ICE) for ADSP chips Multimedia workstations for image processing CAD Lab Logic Analyser ADSP-2100 based systems Arbitrary wave Generator

Computer hardware lab

The lab mainly deals with the design of combinational circuits and sequential circuits on bread board with the help IC's, registers & other electronics devices. The set of experiments allow students to build, and verify digital circuits and systems. On completion of the lab sessions, students have a good understanding of digital logic design. The goal is to illustrate concepts discussed in the class and to give the students the opportunity to build and test real systems.

Digital Image Processing Lab

DIP Lab is all about processing images by using MAT LAB. The name MATLAB stands for matrix laboratory. MATLAB is high- performance language for easy to use environment where problem and solution are expressed in familiar mathematical notation. Typical uses include math and computation algorithm development, data acquisition modeling etc.

Microprocessor Lab

Students get wide exposure to 8085 & 8086 microprocessors & interfacing with several cards e.g. PC to microprocessor & microprocessor to PC. Microprocessor, peripheral & interfacing cuts & devices deal with assembly language programming of Intel 8086/8085. It describes how to interface various peripheral devices with a microprocessor and gives electronic circuitry & programs. The students deal with microprocessors 8085 & 8086 kits and performs the program on assembly language. Learn how to debug the assembly language program and interface between chip and peripherals with proper and complete guidance.

Operating System Lab

The purpose of this lab is to provide you a chance to examine and analyze the source code for a modern operating system.

Computer Organization lab

Computer organization lab is concerned with the way the hardware components are connected together to form a computer system. The various components are assumed to be in place and the task is to investigate the organizational structure to verify that the computer parts operate as intended. The students learn the computer system organization, how to connect the other peripherals to the computer system and different arrangements of the computer hierarchy and topologies. The detail study of the subsystem of the entire computer system like RAM, ROM, PAL, PLA, EPROM, EEPROM etc.

Mechanical Techniques Lab

Numerical techniques plays a key role in computations and it offers a variety of means for numerical computation. The present lab is composed in order to concentrate on the computational tools for mathematical problems. The purpose of this lab is to explain how computers numerically approximate achieve solutions to various problems.
